Emma Riley

Emma R. Riley passed away peacefully on Monday January 6, 2020, closing the chapter to a beautiful 85 year life beginning in Person county and ending Efland. Emma was 1 of 5 children to Betty and Sam B. Rice, born on May 4, 1934. Being a caretaker Emma was known for her kind heart. She loved to cook and bake for her family. Emma was married to Marvin Riley Sr. for 52 years. They loved gardening together with their dog Buddy and sitting on the front porch watching birds fly by. Together Marvin and Emma had 3 children, Marvin Riley Jr., Kenneth Henry Riley, and Mary Elizabeth Riley. Surviving are her daughter Mary Riley (Steve); her grandchildren Tara Riley, Kevin Janney (Eryn), Kenneth Janney (Hannah), Hannah Hogan, Adam Riley, Ashley Hogan; and great grandchild Easton Janney, son of Kenneth and Hannah. She is loved by many and will be greatly missed and will always have a special place in everyone’s heart. A graveside service was held 11 AM Wednesday, January 8, 2020 in Lebanon United Methodist Church Cemetery. The Riley family is under the care of Walker's Funeral Home of Hillsborough.
