Edna Spence

ORANGE COUNTY MEBANE - Mrs. Edna LaRue Spence, 87, formerly of 511 Mattress Factory Rd, Mebane, NC, died Sunday, September 21, 2014 peacefully at home with her family. Mrs. Spence was born on December 20, 1926 in Johnson County, NC, daughter of the late Mattie and Edgar Poole. She worked in textiles as an inspector for Sue Lynn Hosiery. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She is survived by her 3 daughters; Jean S. Riley, Mebane, Carol S. Solomon, Mebane, and Penny S. Flake (Jerry), Efland, daughter-in-law, Linda Spence. Edna was preceded in death by her husband Donald O. Spence, son Robert D. Spence, One grandchild and one great grandchild. She has 10 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren, and 5 nephews. Graveside service will be on September 24, 2014 at 2pm at Oakwood Cemetery.
