Doris E. Terry

Doris Terry (1937-2024)

Doris was born on February 9, 1937, in Durham County, North Carolina. She was the youngest of three siblings, Roy and Thelma. She met her husband, Billy, and married at twenty-seven. They loved antiquing and traveling together. They had two children, Randall and Karen. She loved being their mother and caretaker. She also loved to sew quilts and clothing. She worked at the University of North Carolina as a secretary at the hospital for thirty years. She's the grandmother to three grandchildren: Camille, James, and Dylan. She loved caring for them over their summer vacations when they visited. She adored her great-grandchild, Anna. She was a member of Bynum Baptist Church. She passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 11, in her home after her fight with Alzheimer's and Dementia.

Funeral services will be held at two o'clock in the afteroon on Tuesday, July 16th, 2024 in Walker's Funeral Home, 11680 15-501, Chapel Hill, North Carolina, 27517. Interment will follow in Westwood Cemetery in Carrboro.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service.
