Daniel Struwe

Daniel Charles Struwe, age 40, passed away on September 1, 2017 the result of a truck accident on I-85 in Orange County, NC. Dan was born on Dec. 14th, 1976 to his parents Jeffrey and Carol (Orlikowski) Struwe in Gowanda, NY. After graduation, Dan relocated to North Carolina and eventually called Youngsville, NC his home. He worked for Thomas Concrete in Raleigh for fifteen years as a truck driver and plant supervisor. His title was Assistant Plant Manager/ Professional Tanker Operator. Dan worked at 5 of the 6 Thomas locations and was able to operate all 5 of them. He was a man that ALWAYS said "what can I do to help?" Every employee at Thomas Concrete remembers Dan for his smile, his laugh, and his servants heart. He will be irreplaceable and deeply missed by everyone. He was a member of the Triangle Church of Christ in Chapel Hill as well as a member of the National Tractor Pulling Association (NTPA) where he served on the pit crew for Little Red Pulling Team. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, motorcycling, truck and tractor pulling watching NASCAR and the Buffalo Bills and Sabres. Dan loved life to its fullest and will be greatly missed by all. Survivors include his parents, Jeffrey and Carol O. Struwe; sister, Michele Worden (Randy) and their daughter Mikala; grandmother, Jean Struwe; Dave and Elaine Orlikowski and several other aunts, uncles and cousins. Dan is also survived by many close friends including Sean Peters, MJ and Deborah Humphrey, Jennifer Gammon and her parents Harry and Sue, Brandon and Reed and the Little Red Pulling Team, the Thomas Concrete family and his Rottie-Harley. Dan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Glenn Struwe, Leonard and Christine Orlikowski. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Septemeber 9, 2017 at 3:00PM at Midway Baptist Church 6910 Fayetteville Road in Garner, NC. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to the Eno Fire Department located at 5019 Hillsborough, NC 27705 or the the charity of your choice. The family will have another celebration of life on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at the American Legion Post located at Rt. 5 in Derby, NY at 2:00PM.
