Daisy Hester

Daisy Huong Hester passed away on July 27, 2021. Daisy is survived by her parents, Jenny and Daron Hester, her sister, Helen of Hillsborough, her paternal grandparents, Joan and Raymond Hester of Belews Creek, and her maternal grandparents Susan and Donald Helton of Hillsborough. Daisy was preceded in death by her brother Elijah. Daisy loved experiencing and interacting with nature using all her senses. Daisy was a talented artist, and her artwork reflected all the experiences that brought her joy in life. She especially loved horses, and spent a lot of time riding and dreaming about them. Most of all, she loved her family, and she loved making them smile, which she did all the time. Daisy brought with her a quiet joy. She was constantly collecting memories, listening deeply, looking closely, and asking questions. She turned these moments into lilting jokes, kind words, and works of art. Daisy pursued the beauty of life, and through her actions, encouraged others around her to do the same. A memorial service for close friends and family will be held at Walker's Funeral on Monday, August 2, 2021 at 1:00 PM and will be officiated by Rev. Al Horne. A visitation will be at Walker's Funeral Home on Sunday, August 1, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donating to the National Organization for Albinism and Hypopigmentation, or NOAH (www.albinism.org/donate). Daisy and her family benefited greatly from their support. Walker's Funeral Home of Hillsborough is assisting the Hester family.
