Carmel L. Macdonald

Carmel L. MacDonald, age 87 of Durham, passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2018. She was one of three children born to the late Sebastiano & Theresa Marchese. She graduated from Quincy High School in 1949. She worked for New England Telephone and Bellsouth for over 30 years. Carmel was the widow of Fletcher M. MacDonald. On June 10, 1951, she married Fletcher, the love of her life. They had four children and shared 40 years of marriage together. She enjoyed playing cards, crossword puzzles, Bingo and bird watching from her kitchen. Most importantly, her passion was being with her family. She is survived by her children, Fletcher(Michelle), Bryon(Michele), LeslieAnn(Michael), 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her loving husband of 40 years Fletcher, her son Peter, her sister Elena and her brother Peter. A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday Janaury 5, 2019 at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Walker's Funeral Home and Crematory of Mebane. A vistitation for friends will be held one hour prior to the service from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Walker's Funeral Home and Crematory of Mebane, located at 304 W. Center Street, Mebane.
