Carl Brow

Carl Stanley Brow, III February 18, 1967-April 14, 2014 Born to Patricia Jane Phillips and Carl S. Brow, II in Charleston County, South Carolina, Carl was the second of four children. He joined the Navy in 1986 and served his country in the military for over 22 years, first as a Hospital Corpsman and later as a Navy Nurse Corps Officer. He was a proud alum of the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill and of Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. Carl retired from service in 2008 and pursued a career in culinary arts from the Art Institute of Durham, where he was a member of the Honor Society. Carl is survived by two children, Jessica Brow Daubenspeck of Fredricksburg, VA and Melisande Sophia Brow of Chapel Hill, NC; two brothers, Greg Brow of Atlanta, GA and Bill Brow of Woodbridge, VA; sisters-in-law Julie Rivers Brow and Jamie Bazanka Brow; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his father, Carl Brow, II of MD. Carl is preceded in death by his sister, Meredith Brow Rothrock, and his mother, Patricia Jane Phillips. His final resting place will be Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C. where he will be interred with military honors. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 2:00 at Walker's Funeral Home in Chapel Hill. In lieu of flowers donations to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
