Bruce Temple

Hillsborough- Mr. Bruce Anthony Temple, 74, died Sunday, November 1, 2015. He was born in Durham County and attended the Durham County schools. He joined the U.S. Navy and was stationed in New Iberia, La., where he met and married Joy Viator. They began their family and were married for only 23 years but remained lifelong friends. He was a policeman for 23 years in the New Iberia Police Dept. until he retired in 1995 as a sergeant. Surviving are his daughter, Rebecca Robin and husband Joe Robin, his son, Robert Temple and wife Katie Temple, seven grandchildren: Robert B. Temple, II, Elisabeth T. Hinz (Joe), Jonathan W. Temple, Roxanna L. Temple, Jacquelyn M. Stevens (Irvin), Logan N. Robin, and Hailey J. Robin, four great grandchildren: Madison Hinz, Timothy Hinz, Cameron Stevens, and Julian Stevens , and one brother, Tommy Temple. He was predeceased by his parents, Lillian and Wilbur Temple and his sister Beverly Temple Hilliard. The funeral will be held 6 PM Thursday in Walker's Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be 5-6 PM Thursday in the funeral home. Burial will be 10 AM Friday in Woodlawn Cemetery, Durham.
