Bonita Mullis Leasure

Bonita Mullis Leasure, 73, of Haw River, died Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at her home. Born in Alamance County, daughter of the late Ralph Graham Mullis and Norma Ray Mullis. Bonita recived a Bachelor in Science from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. After college, she went to work at General Electric in Mebane, North Carolina. She retired from both General Electric and Duke Energy in Chapel Hill. Survivors include daughters, Danielle Leasure Sutton and husband Chris Sutton of Yanceyville, Jennifer Leasure and Glenn Payne of Haw River; grandchildren, Harrison Tyler Sutton and Ashlyn Sutton of Yanceyville, Christian Parker Payne of Haw River; sister, LuAnn Mullis and Mark A. Whitaker of Mebane. Bonita was proceeded in death by Sharon Mullis Lloyd. A funeral service will be held at Walker's Funeral Home of Mebane, 304 W. Center Street, Mebane, North Carolina on Friday, December 31, 2021 at 12:00pm, with the family recieving friends from 11am-12pm prior to the service. The burial will follow the service inside Graham Memorial Park. The family has requested that anyone attending the visitation and service please wear a mask and maintain a safe social distance.
