Billy Strudwick Baity

Billy Strudwick Baity, 94, peacefully passed away February 17th surrounded by family. Billy was born July 6th, 1930, in Efland NC to Jack McKiver Baity and Maude Brown Baity. He is survived by his wife of 74 years Nancy Hogan Baity of Hillsborough. Billy had a large and loving family including four sons, Daron Baity of Timberlake, Jerry Baity of Mebane, Barry Baity of Hurdle Mills and Terry Baity of Koblenz Germany. He had 9 grandchildren/step-grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren. Billy served in the US Army from 1947 to 1951 and was retired from Duke University. 

Billy was preceded in death by his parents, brother Jack Baity Jr, and sisters Marie Baity Fearrington and Carol “Bunny” Baity Hall. Services will be held at Walkers Funeral Home in Hillsborough on February 25th by Rev. Randy Carter with visitation from 2:00–3:00pm, service at 3:00pm and graveside service at the Efland United Methodist Church cemetery on Brookhollow road in Efland. Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Baity, Paul Baity, Kenneth Fearrington, Bobby Thompson, Carl Thompson and Scott Rose.
