Beverly Rodgers

Beverly Rodgers, 80, passed away November 10, 2017, after bravely enduring the slow march of dementia. She is survived by her son, Jeff Bray (Claudia), daughter, Marsha Bray Krzyzewski (Ken), grandson, Jake Krzyzewski, sister, Irma Gesche (LeRoy) and nieces Donna Marzolf and Jenny Gesche. She was predeceased by her parents Claudius Bernard Scott and Reba Lea Mitchell Scott, husband Alan Watterson Rodgers and her sister, Arybell Jones Hatley. Born in Asheville and raised in Hickory, NC, she went on to attend Meredith College and graduate UNC Chapel Hill. She taught elementary school and later worked in Graduate Admissions at Duke University. In 1989, she married her beloved, Alan, and they were adventurers and world travelers. They were avid members of the Eno River Shag Club and loved to dance. Both she and Grandpa Al adored their grandson, Jake, and delighted in being grandparents. The family wishes to thank the staff at Croasdaile Village for all their loving, compassionate care. A service and interment will be held at the UNC Memorial Grove, South Road and Country Club Road, Friday December 1, 2017, 11 am.
