Betty Harrison

Betty Elliott Harrison, formerly of Spartanburg, SC, died on October 1, 2016 In Chapel Hill, NC. Betty was born on December 22, 1924. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Alexander Elliott of Chester, SC. Betty was predeceased by her husband Miller Hulet Harrison. Betty graduated from Chester High School and Limestone College. She did graduate work at Winthrop College and the University of South Carolina. She taught school in Amite, LA, Chester, SC, and Charlotte, NC. Mrs. Harrison is survived by two sons, Dr. Joel Miller Harrison of Indianapolis, IN and David Gwyn Harrison (Karen) of Chapel Hill, NC, two granddaughters, Sarah Harrison Cross (Chris) and her daughter Lilian of Sneeds Ferry, NC and Mya Harrison Cruz, her daughters Kadence Stafford and Sierra Harrison and her son Connor Bryan, all of Elizabethtown, NC; step granddaughters Kelly Smith (Tim) and her daughter Lauren, and Kristen Lewis of Chapel Hill, NC. A graveside service will be held in Chester, SC on Sunday, October 9 at 2:30 PM at Evergreen Cemetery. Walker's Funeral Home of Chapel Hill is assisting the family with local arrangements, Barron Funeral Home of Chester, SC is also assisting the family.
