Barbara Jean Kerley

Barbara Jean Kerley, 79, of Mebane, passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. She was the loving wife of Larry Neal Kerley who preceded her in death. She was born on August 5, 1943 in Durham, North Carolina to David Thomas Squires Sr. and Edna Mary Winstead, both deceased. She was a former team leader at General Electric and was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary with the Mebane Fire Department.

She leaves behind her three loving children; Kimberly Kerley Hinshaw, William David Kerley and Rhonda Kaye Kerley. Her grandchildren; Landon Massey, Joel Massey, Jason Massey, Katelyn Cooper, Joseph Hinshaw, Sierra Shambley, Brooke Edwards, Justin Hinshaw and Kendra Yarborough and also her great grand-children; Dwayne Horton, Carson Autry, Jacey Lynn Kelley, Everett Massey, Kane Shambley, Avery Cooper, Victor Shambley and Lochlyn Massey. Other than her children and grandchildren, she is also survived by her siblings, Thomas Squires, Yvonne Capps, Charles and Clifton Lambreth and her loving special friends Carolyn Ellis, Norma Jean Kerley and Priscilla Rice.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at 2:30pm at Walker’s Funeral Home in Mebane, 304 W. Center Street, Mebane by Rev. Sammy Ballard with the family receiving friends from 1:00pm to 2:00pm prior to the service. The burial will follow the service in Mebane Memorial Gardens.
