Annie Sue Hayes Riley

Mrs. Annie Sue Hayes Riley, age 86, of Hillsborough passed away on September 3,2022 ,at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born in Hillsborough NC to the late William Anderson and Daisy Wilkins Hayes. Sue graduated from Hillsborough High School in 1955. She retired from Wilmore Electronics in 1998.

She raised her family with much love and dedication and always put their welfare before her own. She loved going to the beach and spending with her family, eating chocolate and the color purple.

In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Riley; sisters Maxine Freeland, Merle Duncan, Rebecca Hayes, Jean Hall, Molene Roberts and brother William “Chubby” Hayes all of Hillsborough. Sue is survived by her two sons, Todd Riley, wife Tammy and two daughters Amber and Skylar Riley of Hillsborough; Trent Riley, wife Kim and their son, Ethan Riley of Mebane; and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on at Mars Hill Baptist Church on Tuesday, September 6th at 11:00am, officiated by Reverend Daniel Gregory. A reception will follow in the church fellowship hall. The family request that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Mars Hill Baptist Church, 1418 NC-57 North, Hillsborough.

The family would like to thank Nicole Randleman, Georgianna Locklear, and Hailey Brewer for the loving care given to Sue during her illness. The family would also like to thank Amedisys Hospice for their compassionate care.
