Our dedicated and supportive staff are here to guide you through this difficult journey. We take pride in doing our absolute best to ensure your needs are met.  Our current staff of funeral directors has over 75 years of combined service in North Carolina.  We pride ourselves by our involvement in our National Association, as well as our State Association.  We are also actively involved in several civic clubs, and local Chambers of Commerce.  "Our Family Serving Yours" says it all.  We are honored to be considered to be your funeral service provider.

Elizabeth P. Walker, Owner/Trustee

 Rodney V. Gerringer, Funeral Service Licensee, Chapel Hill

A native of Alamance County, Rodney joined the staff at Walker's Funeral Home in May of 2019.  Rodney received his license as a funeral director and embalmer in 1997.  He is married to Cindy Knighten Gerringer, and they have two children, Tiffany and Tamra, and four grandchildren, Tyson, Alaysia, Aiden, and Reagan.

A 1984 graduate of Cummings High School, Rodney received his degree in Mortuary Science from Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service in Atlanta, GA.  He is a member of Kinnett Baptist Church in Burlington, NC.

Nick Bryant, Funeral Associate, Chapel Hill Nick is a Durham native with over twenty years experience working in funeral service. He joined the Walker's staff in 2014.

He is retired from IBM, and is a member of the Quarter Century Club. Nick is also a charter member of the Redwood Fire Department in Durham County and served as their chief for over 25 years. Mr. Bryant is a member of the NC State Fireman's Association and the Durham County Fire Chief's Association. 

                               Nick and his wife Penny have two children and two grandchildren.

Chad Thomas Hefner, Manager - Hillsborough,  Funeral Service Licensee 

Chad joined the staff of Walker’s Funeral Home in 2017.  He grew up in a small town in Alexander County, North Carolina.  Chad was a 2006 Honor Graduate from Fayetteville Technical Community College.  He is a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in North Carolina who assists families with funeral arrangements, pre-need arrangements, monument sales and service. He and his family reside here in Orange County.  In his spare time, Chad enjoys music, woodworking and spending time with his family and friends.  

Carl Wall, Funeral Associate, Hillsborough 

Thomas W. Brown “Tommy”, Manager - Mebane,  Funeral Service Licensee 

Tommy joined the staff of Walker’s Funeral Home in September 2018. Previously he was with Rich and Thompson Funeral service, Burlington-Graham for over 28 years.  Tommy is a native of Mebane and a graduate Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science in Atlanta. Tommy and his wife, Tammy Coffey Brown, reside in Graham. They have two children, a daughter, Audrey Dale Brown and a son, Thomas William Brown, II. Tammy has two older daughters, Nickole Foust Jones and husband Josh and Brooke Elizabeth Clark. They have three grandchildren, Peyton, Hudson and Emerson Jones.

                            Tommy attends Bellemont United Methodist Church in Burlington, and is a retired member of the Graham Fire Department.  He enjoys                                spending time with family and friends and being involved with his children’s sports activities. Tommy’s hobbies include camping, boating                              and manicuring his lawn.

Seth Bowden, Funeral Apprentice, Mebane 

Seth Bowden, who comes to us from Rich and Thompson Funeral Services in Burlington and Graham has joined the staff of Walker’s Funeral Home and Crematory of Mebane .

Seth is a native of Alamance County and the son of Ken and Mary Bowden. He is married to Erica Shambley Bowden, who works at the House of Hair in Haw River and they have two children, Cayson and Lincoln. Seth graduated from Southern Alamance High School in                                  2006 and attended Fayetteville Technical Community College. He is a member of Riverdale Baptist Church in Burlington. Seth is an avid                              Duke, Atlanta Braves and Carolina Panthers fan. Seth has been serving families for over 12 years. 

Ken Bowden, Funeral Associate, Mebane

Ken is a native of Alamance County, and the husband of Mary Janey Bowden. They have 3 sons, Ryan, and his wife Tina; Seth, and his wife, Erica; and Tyler, and his wife, Paige. They are the proud grandparents of five grandchildren, Brianna, Brylee, Cayson, Kash and Lincoln.  Ken is an active member of the EM Holt Fire Department with 27 years of service. He currently serves as the Safety Officer and was a past member of the Board of Directors. He is also an active member of Bethel Baptist Church in Graham, North Carolina where he serves on the deacon board and the audio/video team.

Jerry Perry, Certified Crematory Operator, Funeral Associate, Mebane 

Jerry Perry is a certified crematory operator.  He is the manager of Alamance-Orange Cremation Services, located at our Mebane location. He also assists with funeral services at our Mebane location.  He lives in Mebane with his wife and son.
